Happy First Day of Fall!!! In our house we look forward to this day with much anticipation!!! To celebrate I make a big pot of chili and star shaped corn muffins! This has been a tradition in our home for the past 14 years! What fun traditions do you have to celebrate the First Day of Fall?
Saturday was super fun! Had a fantastic time stamping with my stamp gals at class! My dear friend Judy even joined us all the way from Germany! We had yummy cupcakes to enjoy made by Diane! She is so creative...she made cupcake wrappers with the Greenhoues Gala DSP using the Perfect Setting xl bigz die! They were topped with the adorable birds that were punched with the two-step xl bird punch. They were finished off with a little vanilla shimmer smooch spritz! They were as yummy to eat as they were to look at! Thanks Diane!
These were the four cards we made in the class. We used the Greenhouse Gala DSP along with the Friends Never Fade stamp set which can be found on page 99 of the new catalog! Everyone received the set along with a bundle of product to make the cards and have lots of goodies left over to go home and continue to create!
When I actually get the chance to stamp...I remember why I started stamping! I LOVE IT!!! It's the feeling of instant gratification...of accomplishment! I can make a card and it is done and complete in just minutes! Laundry and dishes are never done...but a card makes me feel like I did get something completed...plus I get to bless someone by sending it to them and brightening their day!
We were so blessed to attend Ashley and Russell's wedding this last Saturday! I just love weddings! The "love is in the air" feeling that is just so present! This was a very special wedding. Vaughn (Ashley's Dad) being Mark's best friend since High School...we have seen Ashley grow up and mature into a beautiful woman. Noah was their ring-bearer and he was so excited to be a part of the wedding. He took his job quite seriously! He did a super job...so professional! We are thinking of hiring him out as a professional ring-bearer...I think he's working on his business cards as I type this! He of course had a fabulous time at the reception...dancing...that boy has some moves...although he calls it "tricks" not dancing! I think the sweetest moment was when he asked the flower girl to dance...cameras were clicking away! My camera, is of course out of commission...so I'll have to see if anyone can share their photos with me. Everything was just perfect for Ashley and Russell's special day! The church was beautifully decorated...the Bride looked AMAZING...the bridesmaids's were beautiful (Lindsay was a bridesmaid too)! The groom looked so handsome along with his groomsmen! Weddings always make me cry...I think it's a combination of things...memories of our wedding...memories of Lindsay's wedding...thoughts of Aaron's wedding in the future...and then of course the beauty of the love that is so evident between the couple pledging their lives to one another. Makes me happy to be in love with My Love! I have a wedding confession to make...I don't watch the Bride walk down the aisle...I watch the groom's face as she walks down the aisle. That is my FAVORITE part of the wedding! Russell's face was all lit up! From where we sat I had perfect view of his face during the ceremony and I must say...seeing the love in his eyes and excitement on his face in looking into his Bride's eyes...I couldn't help but cry! You feel like you are sharing such a beautiful and intimate moment! Then there are those wedding photo montages that have become so popular. You see photos of the couple as they each have grown up! Well...I always loose it seeing them as babies and their journey to adults! I think it is the realization that is just goes too quick and we really need to savor each and every moment! I'm working to savor those small everyday moments with all my little ones and I cherish the memories I have of just the everyday things with Lindsay and Aaron. I was thrilled to make Ashley's favors for her wedding! All 248 of them! I'm so thankful for my Mother-in-law's help in what we dubbed the "purple project". We had many a days at my dining room table visiting and working on the favors! So fun! Ashley seemed thrilled with the finished project. I am disappointed to say that my camera seems to have given up as of last Thursday...so these are awful photos...but I wanted to share them none the less! The first is of their wedding favors on the table and the second is of the card I made for her and Russell. I used Elegant Eggplant and Silver Cardstock and some now retired Lavender Lace. The fancy favor die was used to make the box. Ashley loves Paris...so I used the new Artistic Etchings set from the New 2010-2011 catalog! Love this set!
Borrowed my Mother-in-law's camera and took a quick photo of one of the favors...
Hi to all! I'm excited to share the cards that were made at the first evening of my 3 Evening Christmas Card Workshop! Our first evening we made these 3 cards and everyone chose the card they wanted to make for their Christmas card. We ordered all the goodies and had them back for our second gathering...and everyone started working on their cards. You can see in the photo which card was the most popular! The Lovely as a Tree Merry Christmas card done in Handsome Hunter with Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds glitter! The card with the cute little bird was inspired by Angie Kennedy Juda. The ornament card was inspired by my friend and downline, Karen Wallo. We still have one more evening of the 3-Evening Christmas Card Club, Tuesday, November 17th...so if you would like to join us to start working on your cards...or bring a project to work on...just let me know. The cost per session is $10 and that includes soup and bread. The time is from 2-8 and it is an open house format. Come and join us...we have been having a super time! I also wanted to share a sweet photo of Nehemiah...he is not yet 2 and he knows how Mommy's Big Shot works! He loves to run paper through it!
So sorry for the not posting for such a long time! We have been so busy...and I have been so tired...the reason? Well, I think my club card from last month says it all...
